Penang Trip with my coursemates (9/5/2010~12/5/2010) Part 2

Time flies. It was already the third morning of our trip. Initially, we planned to go eat "din sum", but eventually we did not go because all of us were sleeping late at the night before and we could not get up early. We had a "sharing session" at that night until like 4am. Below are the pictures taken before heading out for the day ...

While waiting for other guys to bath and gussy up themselves, me and ah Boon "invaded" girl's room. There were not really big difference in our room and the girls' one. The only significant difference was that, they put their skincare products, hair drier and handbags on the make up table while in our room, we had our purses and mobile phones.

Smile to the camera..

Don't you think we look like couple?
At balcony which overlook an endless sea at horizon.

In living with han leong. He likes Spongebob very much. If I am not wrong, the tv program that was tuning in at that moment should be his favourite- Spongebob.

This trip was basically a food-hunting trip. We searched for every good and popular food in Penang. We did not really visit much places. We also got the chance to go shopping at Gurney Plaza and Queensbay Mall (I already forgot when we went to either shopping mall). Besides that, while other were shopping in Gurney Plaza, ah boon, han leong and me went to Red Box to sing K.
And this was the photo taken at Gurney Drive after we had our dinner at the stalls beside Gurney Plaza. We had ordered varied of scrumptious food including : Rojak, Otak-otak (siew fen's favourite), Pasembur, clams, Muar Ji....
Evening view of Gurney Drive.
At night, we visited Hard Rock hotel since we were so full with food and didn't want to go back our apartment so soon.
Seriously, I like this area most! The swimming pool is surrounded with sand that looks like beach.
Take this while waiting for others to ease themselves...
At the lobby of Hard Rock hotel..
Group photo before leaving the hotel...
We had planned a birthday surprise for Siew Fen. Ah Boon, Ah How and Han Leong went back into Gurney Plaza to buy Siew Fen a birthday cake with an excuse of wanting to withdraw money. While the rest of us were strolling along the seaside at Gurney Drive. We were playing poker when suddenly the electricity supply in the unit was black out. I started to panic because I had totally forgotten about our plan. I even started questioning if they had already paid for accommodation fee for our last day. Fortunately, Siew Fen also not realized about our plan.
Happy birthday SIew Fen! Wish you always stay pretty and healthy la....u r funny one...without you, the trip would surely dull....

Happy holiday everyone!

Penang Trip with my coursemates (9/5/2010~12/5/2010) Part 1

Yes...Finally i have finished my first year studies, 1 week ago, in University Malaya. I am happy that I did put in more effort in this semester. Let's hope for a better result. I don't want to see me getting any execrable results anymore!

The next day (8/5/2010) right after I came back to hometown, Nibong Tebal, I had a small gathering with my old hometown friends at Pulau Aman. The group consisted of all girls except me. Originally, the girl came here to collect some shells and other edible seafood, but since it was rising tide at the moment, they had to cancel their plan and strolled along the island instead. Before we left, of course, we indulged ourselves with the local seafood. The seafood sold here are all fresh. It's a shame if you come here without eating/buying these seafood.

Big and sweet tasting "Peeing Prawn"(in cantonesse)

Mee Udang (Prawn MEE)

Limau Ais (Lime Water)

Fried Rice with big Prawns

One day in Pulau Aman

Then, next day again, I repacked my luggage and went to Penang island with my coursemates. We did not have any plan earlier for this trip and it turned out to be a food-hunting trip instead. Since, we had to wait for all the other friends come from different parts of Malaysia, it was already evening when we all gathered together at Bukit Mertajam. We then went to Bukit Tambun to eat seafood. As, it was Mother's day, the restaurant was crowded with customers. We had ordered 7 or 8 dishes, but as they were so busy with other customers, they seemed forgot to serve us the remaining dishes. So we just cancelled our order and went to another station. We went back to Bukit Mertajam again to eat Keuy Teow Basah.Yea, it was a Malay prepared food. I wondered why Ah How & Andy (penangkia) brought us to eat Malay food when we already have so much chance to eat that in our campus! However, after I ate the Kuey Teow, I had to give the food a thum up. It was simple yet delicious. We had some satay too at the stall. After the first station (at Bukit Mertajam), we had Tom Yam at Butterworth. For me, it was just so-so, cause I can always find the taste anywhere, it is common, nothing special. As you know, our weather now is freakingly hot, all of us drenched through our shirt with sweats while eating the TOM YAM. After that, we drove to the island and checked in to Sri Sayang Apartment which is located at Batu Ferringi.

On the second day of this Penang Island Trip, we had our breakfast in a KOPITIAM. There were various food that we ordered. Among the food that we ordered and I still can remember are:
1) fried noodle (tee ks's order)
2) penang prawn mee a.k.a Hokkien Mee (han leong's order)
3) fried kuey kak (the rest of us order)
4) otak-otak
5) zhu cheong fan
Then, we visited the Nyonya Baba Residence (one of the renowned heritage in Penang Island). The visiting ticket is RM10 per person and we were given explanation by the tourist inside that place. Things that I know overall is that the big mansion was owned by a Chinese businessman who came from China ages ago (what was his name and when he came Malaysia I did not mind to remember). The guy married a few wives. He must be freaking rich to own that big place at that time!

In one of the mansion's bedrooms (weeding theme), they even got the chicken like what showed in TV!

Ancient Camera

Next, we visited Kek Lok Si. I haven't been here since ages ago too. I don't fancy this place, because it is hot and nothing to see or do here.We also took the cable car up the hill to see the newly build huge Guan Ying statue. Except the statue, I found nothing to do here too. Therefore, we did not stop long here for this station. After coming down from Kek Lok Si, we went to eat Laksa (my most favourite food)

The huge Guan Ying Statue

We also got the chance to eat the Penang's most delicious and popular cendol. There are alot of articles pasted on the walls showing how many foreigners come along here to make documentary about it and also some local celebrities promoting the great food too!

In the evening, we stopped at Esplanade Road t0 eat "ciam-ciam"(Rojak), but the stall seemed already shut down. So we stopped there to take a few pictures only. The breeze was very strong at that moment.

It was Miss Li Yong's (middle girl, with purple strips sleeves-less shirt) 2nd visit to Penang Island since she was born.

2 of the 4 Penang-kias (Andy & Kher Shing), but all 4 of us are not from Island. We live at Seberang Jaya(Province Wallesley, nice old enlish name of Sebrang Jaya).

...Unlike mine...which is dull and mundane, with little pictures to view or articles to .

I am now still in my exam week. Two more days before I end my first year study in UM. Wish me good luck for my last paper yea!

I promise to come out with something nicer or fascinating next time. So STAY TUNED!

March------MAZ & FESENI

FESENI (Creative Dance)

FESENI (Creative Dance)

MAZ annual dinner

MAZ annual dinner (MOS, nightclub)

MAZ annual dinner (Istana Hotel)
Pheww......"Let me take a breath and regain my composure~~~"(a line from It's a Wrap of Mariah Carey)....Finally, I manage to gain some breathing space after beavering away at FESENI for nearly one month.

There were quite BIG and memorable events happening on me in this March.

Firstly, I just attended an annual dinner which was held by my residential college. It can be said that, the event is one of the most anticipated event in this college. Before the event came, every Tom, Dick and Harry went flocking around the shopping malls in order to buy new clothes that could make them look best at that night. Initially, I was not as enthusiastic as the others as I am currently trying to save money to pay for my PTPTN loan. However, when I went out accompanying my friends to buy their new clothes, I managed to try some which looked good on me and that had changed my mind to just simply wear anything I have to the dinner. I bought a black long sleeve shirt, a grey hat ( I never dare to try a hat, but after receiving good reviews from friends when trying it, I decided that I CAN WEAR A HAT TOO!) and a pair of black skinny jeans. After that, Kyle borrowed me his grey tight-fitting vest, sleek black belt and black Converse sneakers. Wahla....I looked really nice in the outfit! I managed to get many eyes during the dinner and of course the chance of being asked to take pictures with them!

After the dinner, I followed some of my seniors to go clubbing at MOS. It was my very first experience to step into a nightclub. I quite liked the ambience of the nightclub. We just shook/swayed ourselves to the rhythm as most of us dont really know dancing. We had a few cups of alcoholic coke before leaving the club.

Ok, talking about the FESENI (festival seni), an event organised by University Malaya where myriad of artsy competitions are held to let the students perform on stage and compete against other colleges. I had been busy with the competition since before chinese new year. But, it turned worst prior the advent of the Creative Dance Competition. We had to undergo a minimum of 5 to 6 hours daily intensive practices before the competition. As the consequences, I have lagged behind in classes. I have to copy assignments and tutorials(i know it is bad) in order to meet the deadline. Besides that, during practices, we were required to do the warm up exercises and stretching and the choreography taught by our trainer, Mr Chen. The theme of our choreography is known as "BARUK" and it is based on the Bidayuh ethnic. The dance includes the ritual carried out by Bidayuh during harvest season, festival after the ritual and building up a BARUK ( a place/building where Bidayuh meets). Overall, our dance is centered on togetherness and unity amongst ourselves as Bidayuh. "You reap, what you sow; no pain,no gain;" Tough the practices were extremely tough and tiring, we managed to secure a third place in the competition eventually. It was a roaring success for us as many of us are not come from dancing background.

After the competition, we were asked if we would join again for Tarian Kreatif in next year by our seniors. For me, I am not sure if i would join again as there are just too many pros and cons to be considered!

Recent me (before 2010 Chinese New Year)

Steamboat at Times Square

MKC acting
Mkc Poster
Mary Kay ESRS training certificate and badge

Wah,,,it has been quite some time I haven't updated my blog. I think it is 3 weeks already, because my baby (new laptop) is now 3 week olds already!

Hmm..I am very proud to tell you guys that I have attended my Mary Kay ESRS training. The training is about how to make up, skincare, manage own business...etc..and I have received the ESRS certificate and badge too. I hope my friends will no longer doubt about my knowledge about skincare, though I understand that I still have a lot of stuff to learn. I really want to tell you guys that I am not cheating or anything. I just want to share Mary Kay miracles with you all. Just think about it. I already own quite skin all the time. Why would I want to try those products? Why would I waste my time telling you guys about the product? My purpose is to share and after that gain some benefits. It is natural. I am not ashame to admit that. I hope you guys can trust me.

Besides that, our MKC (malam kebudayaan cina) in 7th residential college had just finished yesterday. I cant comment about the event as I did not involve much in this activity. I acted as an ancient female escapee who is trying to escape from the chaos during war time. Haha. They wanted me to act as girl originally because they want the soldier to rape me (guy cant touch a girl), so they had chosen me. But after couple of times of rearrangement, all I had to act was just felt down when escaping then killed by one of the soldiers...I am quite happy to hear that I looked pretty that night. Many praised about my skin and complexion again. Thanks ya. By the way, there is one more thing that everyone should know. The mkc poster and booklet were my design. I like the poster so much! Fortunately it did receive some good reviews!

And today (sunday, 7 feb 2010), my friends and I went to Pavilion to loaf around. It was out of our expectation as Wu Zhun was coming to Pavilion to promote his new film today. And later that day, we had steamboat as our dinner. It was a buffet style dinner. We ate so many seafood and dessert too (i ate 3 bowl full of ice-cream!). I have not indulged myself like this for so long time already. On the other hand, in our college, we have to eat the boring mak cik food which is less delicious and not enough. Then after that we went back to college and I have my dance practice again.

Sorry to my sister, Jess, for not replying your sms. I was kinda lazy to reply you every time you sent me the "doing what" message...haha

Dell Studio 14

hey. I just received my new laptop 3days ago (18 January 2001, 4pm). I bought it through the Dell website. The laptop is quite cool with Mike Ming's design on the laptop cover! Again the laptop is white colour but this time it is decorated with some black swirly designs.

When I chucked out the old laptop packaging box, it was quite a lugubrious moment for me. I took several pictures of the box (how pity was I ) before I placed it beside the rubbish bin.

I am wondering where is my previous laptop now?

Hopefully he will find an owner who will take care of him just like me...
I dont want to say "Good Bye"!

About the recent me

Hmmm....What do i want to share this time???

ermmm....well, I just ordered my new laptop and it should arrive next week.I am quite anticipating it, you know, like a child waiting for his Christamas gift.

Actually, I am hoping/ dreaming for quite many things now...Things that I want to achieve or wish to possess..Firstly, I want to strive for a better academic result ( I must do it, I cant afford to loose anymore). Then, I want to try to make some money. And lastly, I hope I can grow fitter (not fatter) after joining the Tarian Kreatif. We have done many exercises continuously for 3 or 4 days now. We are required to stretch ourself to our maximum limit so that we will be more flexible. Besides, I think I have to boost up my stamina again and my body coordination. And I just bought the whole set of swimming equiplment and went went to swim on Monday. It was fascinating but really tiring....

That's all I want to share at the moment...

Be strong, and strive for my goals...

Wish me luck!
